PINK BAROMETER: Property valuers need ESG standards

The inclusion of ESG issues in commercial property valuations is becoming an even more pressing topic as investors and valuers alike have to take into account an increasing number of factors arising from, among others, the Paris Agreement, the European Green Deal or the Fit for 55 package. However, there is a lack of standards in the market that provide significant support for the inclusion of ESG aspects in property valuations. Despite this, investors are already placing a premium on sustainable buildings and ESG matters have become important and are starting to be treated on a par with commercial data.
